Air Graffiti Wall

Air Graffiti Wall is an exciting, interactive experience creating virtual graffiti on a digital wall.

Using Air Graffiti spray can on a projected brick background

So How does Air Graffiti work?

The Air Graffiti screen has a sensor, this detects when the laser spray can is pressed. The software then relates any motion to the screen.

Who’s Air Graffiti for?

People of all ages can enjoy the fun of creating fun images. With Air Graffiti spray cans you can create works of art, help promote a new product with branded screens, or just have fun. The interface is easy and you will be creating fun images in minutes.

What else can you do?

With the addition on a green screen and a DSLR camera you can create a unique photo booth. Spray on a mustache or select one a the built in props to jazz up your image.

Cool picture… Now what?

The software allows you to print, save, share or email your creation. With the use of an HDMI splitter we can project the image onto another wall. I recommend using a fast Dye Sublimation printer.

The features the client gets to use can be crafted to enhance the experience. Want only a couple of options for backgrounds, you can do that. Need to logo every print with your company name, you can do that too.

Need to get the budding Banksy to speed up? You can limit the time for each creation.

I (Paul the Outdoor Movie Guy) love to create art, usually through photography or videography, however this was the most fun I have had in a long time.

Dinner and a Movie – Big Night

Food, drink and a movie is a great way to spend time with friends!  We joined 2 other couples to put on a Date Night dinner and a movie for some other friends. The inspiration for our party came from “Big Night,” a wonderful flick about a small Italian restaurant and its final attempt to stay open.

In the movie, plate after plate of delicious food comes poring out of the kitchen.  Our chef Paul, attempted, and succeeded, in creating a similar experience, including the masterpiece Timpáno.

Our night started with cocktails and music. A wonderful collection of music, from the soundtrack of Big Night.  From “Mambo Italiano” to Paul Anka’s modern classics with a twist.  You have got hear hear his version of Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit“.

The wine was pored and enjoyed

The salad served

Next came the polenta and Shrimp

and of course the Timpáno!

After the main course, our guests (slowly) moved out to the garden to watch the movie on the Big Screen.

Afagoto with homemade Biscotti finished off a perfect night

Big Tips for your Dinner and a Movie Night

  • Divide responsibilities for each part of the night to different people. I (FunFlicks) provided the screen.
  • Grab some close friends to host, you will have as much fun in the kitchen as your guests
  • Make a rough plan for timing of the night taking into account each aspect of the night.  If hosting a movie outdoors look at what time the sun sets and what time you would like the movie to end (and your guests leave) and work backward from there.
  • Try to provide service, fill water glasses, wine, serve the food and clear dishes
  • If you are serving cocktails and other drinks, have someone act as a designated driver, to pickup and drop off your guests
  • We connected a second screen indoors for when the night turned cool
Our Big Night was a Big Success

Pairing Food with Film… Dinner and a Movie!

There are many movies that have a food or beverage tie in.  With a little creativity you can pair your movie with a fun food theme.  Here are some suggestions:

The Obvious Choice
Some movies are obvious and even have food in the title like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory or Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs.

The Foodie Movie
The food is lavish and its all about the presentation.  Julie and Julia, Babette’s Feast or my favorite… Big Night

The Creative Choice
Other movies you can be creative with.  In the photo above there are 5 movies of various rating’s and genres represented.  Can you guess what they are?

It’s a Pinot noir…
Hey, you want a s’more?
Some more of what?
No, do you want a s’more?
I haven’t had anything yet… so how can I have some more of nothing?
You’re killing me, Smalls! These are s’mores stuff.
“Po-ta-toes! boil em’, mash em’, stick em’ in a stew!”
( the actual LOTR movie should have been “The Two Towers”
but I ate said taters before I could retake the photo)

Tallahassee played by Woody Harrelson “There is a box of Twinkies in there. And not just any Twinkies, but the last box of Twinkies in the whole universe. And believe it or not, Twinkies have an expiration date, and pretty soon, life’s little Twinkie gauge is going to go…empty”
The package says it all… Classic Bacon… Kevin Bacon in Footloose.
Everything is better with Bacon!

What movie would you associate with Reese’s Piece’s?

Party Idea – Wreck it Ralph Drive-in

Last weekend we provided our inflatable outdoor movie screen for a kids Cardboard Box Drive-in.  The movie was Wreck it Ralph and they decided to create activities based on the movie.  It was a lot of fun and the kids really got into creating their “cars”.  Here are some simple “How to’s” to create your own incredible event under the stars.

 The Car

Have the Children make cars for their drive-in out of cardboard boxes.  It can be as simple as a box with the top cut off or for the more creative you can add racing strips and change the shape. This is a great gathering activity for the party and can help fill time before showtime on long summer nights.

You will need:

Child Designs Shape of Car
Adult Cuts Out Design
Fancy Car with Whale Tail

 We Love Cake

In Sugar Rush (the racecar game in the film), cars are constructed with candy.  Have the children build their own cake cars with candy!
  • A simple small rectangular cup cake pan was used
  • Cakes were pre-frosted
  • Children created their own masterpieces using candy to decorate their cakes.
  • Bowls of assorted candy (kit-kat’s, lifesavers, sour punch straws and licorice, etc) were set out for the children to choose their own decorating tools

Party Decorations

In keeping with the film, decorations were bright with a yummy candy center piece, candy cutouts and bricks from the apartment building in the Ralph game.

Yummy Center Piece

Brick Theme Livens up a Table Cloth

Cool Hanging Candy

Parting Gifts

Party guests get to take their drive-in car and a piece of candy from the center piece… but don’t forget the hero medal
“You’re My Hero”  cookie medal

Other Cool Kids Car Movies for a Cardboard box Drive-in

  • Cars (or Cars 2)
  • A Herbie Movie
  • Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (warning… its long)
  • Speed Racer

See you at the Drive-in

Party Idea of the Month – Football

The 49ers and the Ravens are all set for the Super Bowl.  The brother coaches will face off in the “Harbaughcalypse” Sunday February 3, 2013!

Wanting to plan an amazing event?  One of our friends in Washington hosted an amazing football party.  Yes, that is 2 screens, one for the game and one for Fantasy Football stats.  Taking the Man Cave outside!

A Quick Super Bowl Planning Guide
Get the Invites Out
Invite people to your Super Bowl party.  Speed up the process by using an online service like Evite or create a Facebook event.  Evite has some fun Big Game invitations.

Food
Make it easy, everyone loves a potluck!  Many people have their own “family dip”.  Here’s one that gets rave reviews at our parties, Mississippi Sin Dip.  Get an idea what each person is bringing in your RSVP,  then when you get the “What can I bring” question, you can guide them to something you don’t have.

Beer and drink
Supplying the drinks can be very expensive.  Make it a BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle).  Don’t forget to have a sharpie available or, if you are crafty, make these stickers like these to mark those cups and bottles

Fun and Games
Superbowl Pool (betting squares), Trivia,  player name drinking games and even some Maden.  Just remember “Gambling is illegal at Bushwood sir” and also in some States.

Decorate
Team colored balloons, crepe paper and mascots make for a festive display.  Don’t forget football shaped plates, a tablecloth and coordinating napkins.  For more fun, check out these other over the top football items.

Viewing
Depending on your space, have the game showing in different locations.
BEFORE game day check all locations you plan to have a screen have some way of connecting to your TV feed.  On the West coast, if you plan on doing it outside, remember that it is still light when the game starts and you will not get an image on the screen until around half-time.
A stats screen is a great addition to your main viewing area.  You can use ESPN.com NFL gamecast on a laptop, tablet or web enabled device connected to a larger screen.

Puppy Bowl?
If children are present, think about showing the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet in a separate room.

Commercials
Some of the best TV commercials and special effects are used in the Super Bowl ads.  Get interactive and create ballots to vote on the best commercials. Keep the sound up and enjoy.

Cleanup
Make cleanup easy!  Use paper plates, cups and tablecloths. Put a trash can in each room\area and label recycling, compost, trash etc.

Cake
If you love to bake don’t forget a fun themed cake or cupcakes.  Type football cupcakes or cake into Pinterest for more ideas than you will know what to do with!

Have Fun!  Go Niners!

Cheers,
Paul
